Amigo Walking Tours brings together the city's best sights and stories in unbeatable tours as fun as they are informative.
We love spending time with our guests marveling at the history of this beautiful city. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a longtime local exploring downtown, you’ll always find something new to learn and see! There's no set price for our Free Public Tours - you tip whatever you feel is fair at the end - so priceless knowledge is guaranteed and possibly a shot at one day winning Jeopardy, thanks to the small details and random facts learned along the way! Our Paid Private Tours also provide an amazing way to see the city, with one of our stellar guides getting to focus just on you and work around your schedule.
Various themes of stories and history are offered on two awesome routes:
Downtown Tour: From the historic block where San Antonio began to the crown jewel of its skyline, join us for "a few of our favorite things" that will leave you marveling at the city's unique character.
King William District Tour: One of San Antonio's oldest and most regal neighborhoods allows a glimpse into the fascinating twists and turns of people and social issues throughout the city's history.
The schedule of tours is released one month at a time (usually a week or two beforehand). Reservations must be made at least 90 minutes before the tour time to guarantee the tour. People may show up without a reservation (or with less than 90 minutes' notice), but a tour cannot be guaranteed.

Frequently Asked Questions
how do tour reservations work?
Reservations must be made at least 90 minutes before the tour time to guarantee a tour. People may show up without a reservation (or with less than 90 minutes' notice), but a tour cannot be guaranteed. Making reservations online is the easiest option, but you can also text/call/WhatsApp +1 210-560-0807 or send a message using the Contact Us form below. Please include your name, tour date/time and number of people.
Where does the tour start/finish?
Downtown Tour: Begins in Main Plaza (115 Main Plaza), near San Fernando Cathedral, and concludes in Hemisfair Park at Yanaguana Garden (434 S. Alamo St.), between Tower of the Americas and La Vallita.
King William District Tour: Begins at the Gazebo in King William Park (131 King William St.) and finishes on the grounds of The Guenther House Restaurant and Shop (205 E. Guenther St.).
How long is the tour?
Downtown Tour: About 1.75-2.25 hours long, covering about 1 mile (1.6km).
King William District Tour: About 1.5-1.75 hours long, covering about 1 mile (1.6km).
What about weather?
San Antonio has over 300 days of sunshine! We love rain when it arrives, but we also prioritize the wellbeing of our tour members in less than ideal weather. As such, we can’t do tours if there’s a chance of lightning, and rare events of extreme weather or logistical conflicts may cause tours to be canceled. To confirm if a tour is still taking place, just text/call/WhatsApp us at +1 210-560-0807.
How hot does it get?
Texas can be very warm in the summer, but tours are scheduled at times when temps are cooler. We take advantage of air conditioning, seating, and shade at every opportunity along the way.
Do I have to pay?
We love offering Free Public Tours, for which tips are very appreciated, but high-fives, thank you's, and the naming of firstborns after tour guides are equally accepted.
Do tips have to be in cash?
Are there rest / water breaks?
Yes! Our guides are sensitive to the needs of tour members and will make available every opportunity for rest and care. The King William District route, however, has limited opportunities for seating, bathrooms, and purchasing water, due to being a neighborhood tour.
What ages can come?
All ages are welcome, but the tour is best for those comfortable with leisurely walking a mile and listening to some really good stories.
Is the tour accessible?
Our guides work hard to make routes accessible and easy to traverse. The Downtown Tour includes some stairs, but let us know in advance if this is a challenge, and we will gladly find a work-around!
How will I find the guide?
Free Public Tours: Look for your guide at the meeting point, who will usually wear a bright shirt with FREE TOUR on the back. Paid Private Tours: You will have contact information for your guide, who will be waiting at the agreed upon meeting point.
Where can I leave a review?
